After three back-to-back eye-related appointments today, Mama and I were both exhausted. So we decided to let someone else cook and clean by going out to lunch!
When we sat down, they brought us ice water and Mama’s glass had a pattern with a message: ENJOY EVERY MOMENT. How fitting!
Though the restaurant was a bit loud for us, the food and service were great. We managed to hear each other by sitting at a corner of the booth table and leaning in conspiratorially.
Mama ordered a Shirley Temple and beamed like she was a kid again!
Today’s #OneGoodThing with Mama is going out to lunch! What was your #OneGoodThing today? Please share in the comments! And remember, kindness is everything!

What is in a Shirley Temple? Is that what Radar O’Reilly would have ordered?

I’ve no idea who Radar O’Reilly is, but a Shirley Temple is a drink named after an adorable little girl actress, singer, and dancer in the 1930s. The drink is ginger ale, grenadine, and maraschino cherries. It’s quite delicious! And it’s long been popular with little girls (at least it was for my mother and myself during our childhoods as a special treat). I fondly remember watching the old Shirley Temple movies as a kid in the 80s. Please enlighten me… who was Radar O’Reilly?

If you ever watched M.A.S.H., you would know who Radar was. 😉
My older sister had a Shirley Temple doll. It was so pretty, and I still recall her little dress and curly hair.
